Janet Jackson, recently opened up to Australia’s Stellar magazine and talked about being a working mother to her 2-year old son Eissa. One could easily assume she has a nanny for her son, but that’s not the case at all.
At the moment, Jackson has a Las Vegas residency titled “Metamorphosis” at the Park MGM hotel and casino that wraps up on August 17.
“It is hard being a working mother,” she explained. “I don’t have a nanny. I do it all myself. If my mother did it with nine children, there’s no reason I can’t. Of course, when I’m working someone watches him. At all other times, it’s my baby and me.”
“It’s not easy at times, but my life has changed,” added Jackson. “Obviously my baby comes first.”
And that rule pertaining to Eissa has caused the singer to change how she approaches her career as well, which she talked about in a separate interview with Radio One back in 2018.
“He’s first and foremost in my life,” said Jackson. “Even my work ethic has changed. I still love to work, but he comes first. I work less hours than what I used to.”
The “Control” creator welcomed Eissa in January 2017 with her ex-husband Wissam Al Mana, whom she split from in April of that same year.
