Walgreens is to sell CBD products in nearly 1,500 of their stores across the country, the chain has confirmed.
Products will include creams, patches and sprays but Walgreens has not specified which brands they will carry.
‘This product offering is in line with our efforts to provide a wider range of accessible health and wellbeing products and services to best meet the needs and preferences of our customers,’ Walgreens spokesman Brian Faith explained in a statement to CNBC.
Earlier in March, CVS announced that it would be selling cannabis based products in eight states.
CBD from hemp was recently made legal through the passing of the Farm Bill, last year, which gave mass production of hemp the go.
The FDA still asserts that CBD is not to be added to food or sold as a dietary supplement.
Those who do, are subject to possible enforcement from federal or state partners of the FDA.
