Wendy Williams Show Taking ‘Planned’ Break As She Battles Controversy Surrounding Her Husband

Wendy Williams has announced her daytime talk show will take a ‘planned break’ next week, amid the controversy surrounding her personal life.

The 54-year-old went ahead with the Wendy Williams Show on Tuesday morning, just hours after she was alleged to have been rushed to hospital.

Standing in the middle of her audience, Wendy confirmed: ‘We have a planned break next week.’

Likely anticipating the speculation about the show’s absence, Wendy insisted: ‘It’s planned though.’

The Wendy Williams Show will return on 8 April.

There was no sign of Wendy’s personal battles during Tuesday’s episode as she sailed through her Hot Topics segment and sat down for an interview with married couple Waka Flocka Flame and Tammy Rivera.

However, Wendy did get a couple of facts wrong during the interview, including mistakenly believing they had joined the new season of Love & Hip Hop. It also got a little awkward when Wendy claimed Waka’s mother, Dee, had gotten cosmetic surgery.

Earlier this week, it was alleged that Wendy’s husband Kevin Hunter had become a father outside of their marriage.

Reports claimed Kevin’s so-called mistress Sharina Hudson had given birth to their daughter at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia on Sunday.

Neither Kevin or Wendy have addressed the reports.

The couple have been married for 22 years and share one child together, 18-year-old son Kevin Hunter Jr.

After taking a two-month break from The Wendy Williams Show, the TV personality revealed she has been living in a sober house to overcome addiction.

Tearfully sharing the news with her audience, Wendy said earlier this month: ‘Well, for some time now, and even today and beyond, I have been living in a sober house.

‘When you see me come to work, glammed up, right after the show I go across the street, I do my Pilates. I told you, two hours a day I like to take care of my body. And you know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past.’

Detailing her routine at the home, Wendy said: ‘Lights out by 10pm. So I go to my room, and I stare at the ceiling and I fall asleep to wake up and come back here to see you. So that is my truth.’
