Plant Based Lifestyle: Beyonce & Jay-Z Open Up About Veganism In New Book Intro

In the introduction of The Greenprint: Plant-Based Diet, Best Body, Better World, written by Beyonce and Jay-Z’s personal trainer Marco Borges, Hot New Hip Hop reports.

The Carters penned an introduction in which they issue a challenge to fans to try on the plant-based lifestyle for size.

Borges has worked with the couple for several years, even crafting the 22 Days Nutrition diet plan that Beyonce followed in preparation for her Coachella performance last year.

Beyonce and Jay-Z first tried the plant-based life in 2013 and according to Borges, it has helped them to develop a “greater understanding of the powerful benefits of plant-based nutrition.”

“Having children has changed our lives more than anything else,” Jay and Bey write in the intro to Greenprint. “We used to think of health as a diet – some worked for us, some didn’t. Once we looked at health as the truth, instead of a diet, it became a mission for us to share that truth and lifestyle with as many people as possible.

We all have a responsibility to stand up for our health and the health of the planet. Let’s take this stand together. Let’s spread the truth. Let’s make this mission a movement. Let’s become ‘the Greenprint.’”
