A Bikini-Clad Angela Simmons Opens About Owning Her Imperfections

When you look this fabulous, it’s not possible to have some insecurities about your body, right?

Wrong.

While vacationing with friends in Miami and enjoying Art Basel, Angela Simmons, clad in a brown bikini, took a break from the sun and water-filled activities to talk about confronting body issues.

After having a not-so-confident moment, the 31-year-old decided to flip her insecurities on their head and motivate other people to do the same.

“Yesterday what came to mind was my body issues. I think a lot of people are insecure right, with their body. We can obsess about the little things we don’t like about ourselves, or we can obsess on what we do like,” she said while filming herself.

“I think it’s really important to have self-love. To look at yourself every day and to love yourself,” she said.”Whatever issues you have, own that. You know what I mean? If you have stretch marks, maybe you’ve had a baby, maybe you just have stretch marks, that’s what you have. God gave you that. Love yourself as you are. So for me, I was just having a little moment, and I wanted to share it with you guys.”

Simmons often talks openly about embracing her body, and she tends to strip down to do so. Back in September, she posed in her underwear to show people what they might deem “flaws,” and to say that she, like everyone, is a work in progress.

“Always a work in progress . Naturally achieving my body goals daily,” she wrote. “Always room [sic] improvement. However , loving myself just as I am is very important . Loving myself just as I am. Everyday [sic] is a new day. Some days a I want a flatter stomach , some days I want my arms to be cut up, some days I want to round out my bum more . The biggest lesson I have learned is being content with who I am. Nothing wrong with striving to always be better. But always be good to yourself . Never put yourself down. love yourself just as you are.”
