Local veterans are concerned over a recent move by the VA Medical Center to axe a program aimed at keeping veterans healthy.
A group of veterans met at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 51 Tuesday morning to organize a game plan the VAMC terminated a veteran program without consulting them.
The minimally supervised exercise group, or MSG for short, allows veterans to access the hospital’s physical therapy equipment after they no longer need direct supervision from a therapist.
The veterans say MSG has been a source of camaraderie and support, somewhere they can work out with others who can understand their situation. However a recent letter sent out by VA administrators plans to axe that.
